Consolidated Credit Canada Community Leader is Featured Guest Speaker at Financial Literacy Summit

TORONTO, ON, October 7, 2025 – Consolidated Credit Canada, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit credit counselling organizations, is proud to announce Lexi Lin, Community Outreach Manager and Certified Financial Counsellor, will be a guest speaker at the Financial Literacy Leaders Summit hosted by the Canadian Association for Financial Empowerment (CAFE) on October 8th to 10th, 2025 in Calgary, Alberta.

As financial pressure continue to mount for Canadians, Lin will dive into how inflation, mounting debt, and daily financial strain are affecting Canadians’ wallets and their emotional health. “Debt weighs more on the mind than the wallet.  If it costs you your mental health, it’s too expensive,” says Lin.

Her session, From Financial Stress to Financial Strength: The Mental Health Impact of Money, will explore the strong link between financial instability and emotional well-being, living paycheque to paycheque, and the hidden shame many people carry around debt.  “Bills don’t just come in the mail; they come with anxiety and behind every bill is a human story. Education can heal both wallets and worries,” Lin adds.

Canadian data illustrates how money-related anxiety and depression are affecting people of all ages and backgrounds. This summit goes beyond the statistics, putting a spotlight on real-life implications including relationship stress and health consequences.  Conference attendees will discover:

  • Evidence-based connections between financial stress and mental health in Canada
  • How to recognize the emotional and psychological impacts of debt and insecurity
  • The role of trauma-informed communication and inclusive financial education in breaking the cycle
  • Practical ways organization can support individuals in crisis

This summit is more than a conversation; it’s a call to action. For more information visit: https://www.cafe-acaf.org/financialliteracyleaderssummit.
