Let’s be honest. Putting in the effort it takes to improve your financial literacy isn’t always fun, but it’s necessary if you want to be successful. With that in mind, Consolidated Credit periodically holds various contests and sweepstakes that try to make getting out of debt and building a better financial world a little more fun. We’re happy to offer people a little incentive to improve their financial savvy, so they can be successful.

This page provides information about our current open contests, as well as general rules for entry. Simply follow the instructions and you may be rewarded for doing right by your finances!

General Contest Rules

The “2022 Housing Affordability Survey” (the “Contest”), is sponsored by Consolidated Credit Counseling Services of Canada, Inc. (the “Sponsor”). The Contest is intended to be conducted in Canada only and is void where prohibited by law. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and local laws and applicable regulations. Eligibility requirements are set out below in Section 2.

By entering the Contest, the Eligible Participant (as defined below) agrees to abide by these Contest Rules (the “Contest Rules”) and the decisions of the Sponsor with respect to all aspects of the Contest, which are final and legally binding on the entrants.

1.         HOW TO ENTER: No purchase necessary. Beginning on <13/4/2022 ET> until <12/5/2022>  (the “Contest Period”) there is one way for an eligible person to enter the Contest. The methods of entry are:

(a)        ONLINE: Enter online at <*> by completing the survey with your first name, last name, e-mail address and confirm that you have read and agreed to be bound by the Contest Rules, indicate whether you would like to receive additional information from the Sponsor about programs and promotions, and click “submit”.

2.         ENTRY ELIGIBILITY: To enter and be eligible to win, a person must be i) a legal resident of Canada, ii) of the age of majority in the resident’s respective Province and iii) must not be an employee of the Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates, related companies or agencies, or a member of their immediate families or any person with whom they are domiciled (the “Eligible Participant”).

3.         PRIZES: There will be one prize(s) available to be won by a selected entrant from among all eligible entries received by the last day of the Contest Period, consisting of$150. The Sponsor makes no representation, warranty or covenant in respect to any prize provided in connection with the Contest, including without limitation any warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for purpose. The Prize(s) are neither refundable nor transferable, and cannot be extended. Note that all applicable taxes are the sole responsibility of the winning entrant. The Prize(s) must be accepted as awarded and no cash equivalent will be available. No substitution of prizes is permitted except by the Contest Sponsor in its sole discretion. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize(s) with another prize of equal or greater retail value, as determined at its reasonable discretion. Prize(s) are not redeemable for cash or credit, in whole or in part. All prizes are awarded on an “as is” basis.

4.         WINNER SELECTION AND QUALIFICATION: A random draw for the Prize(s) will be held on 13/5/2022 at Consolidation Credit Office for all eligible entries received by the last day of the Contest Period. If an Eligible Participant is selected as the winner from the random draw, such an Eligible Participant must answer a skill-testing question in order to receive the Prize(s). The odds of being drawn as a potential prize winner depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period. A selected entrant who has not successfully filled all the mandatory fields will be deemed to have forfeited the Prize(s) and the Sponsor shall be entitled to select a new name from the qualified entrants. Failure to respond or claim [the/a] Prize within [fifteen (15)] days after notification or return of e-mail notification as undeliverable after [one (1)] attempts will result in forfeit of [the/a] prize and the Contest Sponsor shall discard the selected entry and be entitled to randomly select an alternate winner. Prize(s) will be mailed to winners at the address submitted by the winner upon entering the Contest. If the mailed Prize(s) [are/is] returned as undeliverable, the winner will be deemed to have forfeited the Prize(s). Prizewinner(s) will be contacted by e-mail and may be required to complete and return a release form in order to redeem their prize. Additionally, in order for the selected entrant to claim the Prize(s), the selected entrant must answer the skill-testing question correctly, independently, without aid or assistance from any other party.

5.         NAME AND IMAGE OF THE WINNERS: By participating in the Contest, each prize winner consents to the use of his or her name, city and province of residence, and/or photographs, without further remuneration, in connection with any publicity carried out by or on behalf of the Sponsor. The Sponsor and/or its affiliates, related companies or agencies, and their respective employees and agents will have the right to photograph any winner and, if applicable, his or her guest for use in future promotions, without further remuneration. Each entrant gives the Sponsor the legal right to use, modify and publish his or her submitted materials in any way the Sponsor sees fit, including without limitation in future brochures, websites, newsletters, social media and other campaigns without compensation.

6.         GENERAL CONDITIONS:

(a)        This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.

(b)        All entries become the property of the Sponsor and none will be returned. No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected entrant.

(c)        All entrants release the Sponsor and its affiliates, related companies or agencies, and their respective employees and agents from any loss, damage or claims caused by or resulting from participation in the Contest, or the acceptance or use of the Prize(s), including but not limited to any injury or damage to an entrant’s or to any other computer.

(d)       The Sponsor is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of this Contest, including but not limited to, errors in advertising, the Contest Rules, or the announcement of the Prize winner(s).

(e)        No responsibility is assumed by the Sponsor for any inability of a potential entrant to successfully enter the Contest for any reason, including any problems or technical malfunction of any internet or telephone network or broadcast transmission during the Contest. The Sponsor assumes no responsibility for falsified, late, lost, damaged, misdirected, garbled, or incomplete entries. Proof of transmission (screenshots, etc.) does not constitute proof of delivery.

(f)        The Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any entrant from the Contest in the event it is determined by the Sponsor, in its discretion, that the entrant (1) has failed to comply with the Contest Rules, (2) has sought to gain an inequitable advantage in relation to other entrants, (3) has cheated in any way shape or form, or (4) may bring the Contest or the Sponsor or its affiliates into disrepute.

(g)        Entries generated by script, macro, robotic, programmed, or any other automated means are prohibited and will be disqualified.

(h)        Any attempt by an entrant or any other person to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.

(i)         The parties have expressly required that these Contest Rules and all documents and notices relating hereto be drafted in English. Les parties aux présentes ont expressément exigé que le présente regles de concours et tous les documents et avis qui y sont afférents soient rédigés en anglais. In the event of any discrepancies between the English language rules and the French language rules for this Contest, the English language rules shall prevail.

(j)         The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest should (in its sole discretion) a virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes beyond the Sponsor’s control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Contest. In such case, the Sponsor may select the prize winner(s) from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by the Sponsor.

(k)        By entering the Contest the entrant agrees to receive e-mail newsletters periodically from the Sponsor. The entrant can opt out of receiving this communication at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the newsletter.

7.         PERSONAL INFORMATION: The Sponsor respects your right to privacy. By entering this Contest, each entrant consents to the Sponsor collecting, storing and using the personal information submitted with his or her entry in accordance with its privacy policy, only for the purpose of administering this Contest unless the entrant otherwise agrees. 8.         LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: By entering the Contest, the entrant agrees to release and hold harmless the Sponsor and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from (i) such entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or his or her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof, (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunctioning of any computer, cable, network, hardware or software; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions or telephone or Internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the promotion; (v) electronic or human error which may occur in the administration of the promotion or the processing of entries.

9.         DISPUTES: This Contest is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the country of Canada without respect to conflict of law doctrines. As a condition of participating in this Contest, the entrant agrees that any and all disputes which cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in Ontario having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances will the participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, other than participant’s actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. costs associated with entering this Contest), and participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
